In thSet within Sant Pere de Ribes and overlooking the Garraf Natural Park, this 200 sqm home carries the strong character of its 1970s architecture while opening onto a landscape of vineyards, forest and light. For our client, a London-based communications professional with a deeply personal relationship to her belongings, the project began with a simple desire: to feel comfortable and at ease in her home again.
What started during the 2020 lockdown as a living room and entrance redesign soon evolved into a fuller transformation, after the first phase confirmed how much the house could give back when carefully reimagined. Working closely together, we reshaped the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms into a refined home where her love for glass, marble and soft tonal layers now feels fully integrated into everyday life.
The original staircase, with its dark wood balusters, was replaced by glass railings and stainless-steel handrails to create a lighter, more generous first impression. The change immediately brings more visual spaciousness into the entrance, setting the tone for a home that now feels open and connected.
Once rustic and impractical, the kitchen was transformed into one of the most distinctive rooms in the house. Carrara marble, pearl cabinetry and brushed metal surfaces bring together refinement and function, while carefully planned storage allows the client’s glass collection and inherited pottery to become part of the room’s story.
The fireplace was reworked with streamlined marble mouldings, keeping the open-fire concept while giving it a cleaner, more elegant presence. A shelf behind the London sofa and a floating book display add layers of depth, allowing the room to feel curated, lived in and visually balanced.
The main bedroom and bathroom were reconnected through a redesigned partition, creating a stronger sense of flow and comfort. Sliding doors, glass bedside tables and warm lighting soften the white-grey palette, while the moonlit views from bed give the suite a calm, elevated atmosphere.
Throughout the home, the client’s love of monochrome richness became a design language in its own right. Blown glass, ceramics, marble and artwork now read more clearly against refined pale backdrops, turning treasured objects into part of the architecture rather than adding them on top.
Because the project grew naturally from one successful room into the next, the house now feels cohesive without feeling overdesigned. The result is a home that respects the client’s taste while improving how she lives in it every day — more fluid, more personal and more complete.
